10th March 2019 Santa Clara 0 Desportivo Aves 0 Portuguese Primeira Liga

Mamadou Cande (Guinea-Bissau) - chunky home left wing-back, goes forward readily, left foot delivery, often involved.

Mama Samba Balde (Guinea-Bissau) - Aves tall midfielder, ranged across the middle, some pacy driving surges forward, had a chance in the first half, less active in the second period, subbed on 83 minutes.

Carlos Ponk (Cape Verde) - right centre back for the visitors, solid, some sharp interceptions, did get a yellow card for reaction.

The nearest either side got to breaking the deadlock was a first-half Santa Clara header that clipped the post.

Brazilian Bruno Lamas was the standout threat for the home side with his left foot deliveries.

Aves produced a few half chances but otherwise would be happy with a point from their visit to the Azores.

Much to the home crowd's annoyance, the match eventually fizzled out into a goalless stalemate.
